After Fnatic defeated BIG during IEM Katowice 2022, team's sniper Owen "smooya" Butterfield joined HLTV.org for a short interview.

The player said that he did not consider this matchup a tough and emotional rivalry, despite them facing BIG on a regular basis. That is because the German team constantly makes changes to the CSGO roster, and only Tizian "tiziaN" Feldbusch has had his permanent place in the lineup. Smooya shared that every time he wants to make a pre-match tweet, the roster of the opponent does not look like the previous version.

Anyway, smooya is happy that Fnatic could advance to the next round, as BIG are known to be the anti-strat kings. Next, he talked about his previous habits to go all-alone and play as an individual, instead of focusing on teamplay:

[Lately] I've been trying to play more for the team, I will be much better if I groove back from individual play. My entire life I have been a selfish player.

Finally, speaking about the confidence for later stages, he says big teams don't make him nervous. The goal of the team in these situations is to enjoy the moment, as whatever is to happen will happen. But to make a pick, smooya would avoid playing against Gambit, even if that means that he'll have to face Team Vitality and their superstar Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut.
