CIS esports teams are adapting to the new reality after the military conflict between Ukraine and Russia unfolded. Some of them lost many partnership deals, while others were completely excluded from the tournaments.
One of those teams is Team Spirit, who have decided to relocate to Serbia. Serbia is a reasonable place to move to temporarily, as it is not a part of the EU and is quite far away from the military operation zone. However, the club stated that they are not looking to get their players new citizenship, and consider this relocation to be a temporary measure to avoid any complications with logistics.
Earlier, there were rumours that Russian citizens like Ilya "m00NESY" Osipov might get citizenship in Serbia too, in order to participate in the upcoming ESL and BLAST tournaments. Other confirmed news indicate, that Gambit Esports are going to compete in tournaments under a neutral flag.
