BLAST Premier joins other tournament organizers that refuse to invite Russian esports teams to their upcoming events. Previously the same approach was supported by WePlay Esports in support of Ukraine during the military crisis.
Seems like there will be less tournaments for teams like Virtus.pro, forZe, Gambit and others: they will not be able to play for the upcoming CIS Qualifier and Spring Showdown. Also, the former is being cancelled, as "it is not suitable to move forward with the current situation", BLAST explains.
Anyway, the esports community thinks such sanctions are not a part of fair play, as those do not create equal chances for individuals or teams having nothing in common with politics. Others support the decision of the orgs.
