TSM's failures in 2022 LCS Spring Split were a very unexpected results for the fans, especially after the organization has made so much investment in every aspect associated with them, from the luxurious facility to talented players. CEO of the organization Andy “Reginald” Dinh shared in one of his comments upon the situation, that TSM had spared 5 million dollars to invite rookies into the roster for the 2022 Season. This is known to be nearly the same cost as their former plan to sign Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen, Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng and Philippe "Vulcan" Laflamme.

“We also knew the above roster would lead to a more consistent performance, but thought it wouldn’t have the potential to dominate the league or go far at Worlds,” Reginald said. “We wanted to build it over three years, not one”.

Instead, TSM have scouted performers across North America, Korea, China, from where 20 players were tested to discover the “right-fits” for the team.

At this point 4 weeks are left till the Spring Split concludes, so the current 1:8 result might not be enough for TSM to become candidates for LCS championship, even more to think about their Worlds’ slot.
