The Game Awards 2022 has chosen different nominees to categorize the best esports teams, players, events, etc. Surprisingly though, there have been different choices this year.

The absentees list includes this year's Worlds Championship winners, DRX. Not even their IGL or coach were nominated in any categories. Fans are curious about the green tick near the name of Gen.G mid laner Chovy, who has only won the Summer Split lately.

Yet there are people that claim that The Game Awards does not take into account post-Summer events. However, T1 IGL Lee "Faker" Sang-Hyeok is also in the list of the best esports player of the year, along with other disciplines stars Karrigan, S1mple and Yay.
