Challengers Korea is the second tier of competition in South Korean LoL esport, directly seeding into League of Legends Champions Korea, the country's premier LoL league. This is the first split of 2018 with Ever8 Winners returning after their split in the LCK as Kongdoo Monsters moved up to the LCK and CJ Entus forfeiting their seed in Challengers Korea.
Like most LoL leagues, Challengers Korea is split into three stages with qualification, regular season, and playoffs. The two strongest teams at the end of the season qualify for the 2018 LCK Spring Promotions tournament, with a shot to take their place in the world's best league.
Summer promotions are played by four teams, the weakest 2 from the Spring Season and the winners of the qualifiers. They play Best-of-Five in a small Double Elimination bracket, where the losers play a best-of-one for the last spot. The three winners qualify.
Played as a double Round Robin with matches being Best-of-Three. Top 4 teams qualify for the Summer Playoffs, with winners and second place teams receiving a bye into the finals and the semi-final, respectively.
Gauntlet-style. Best-of-format to be announced.
