IEM Winter 2021 is finally approaching its ending, as the two semifinals are set to happen on December 11th. In the first game of the day a CIS side Virtus.pro will face the Frenchmen from Team Vitality. Despite the ongoing rumors about the upcoming reshuffle at the French team, they have more chances of going through to the finals, according to analysts.
Still, bookmakers expect this to be a close game. Vitality has a slight advantage, but the odds suggest that Virtus.pro should be able to win at least one of the maps. The CIS team is still undefeated at this event, while Vitality suffered one loss in the closing group stage game against G2 Esports which led them to a match against Gambit Esports in the quarterfinals.
Virtus.pro vs Team Vitality odds:
- Winner: Vitality (1.57).
- Winner: Virtus.pro (2.31).
- Handicap: Virtus.pro +1.5 (1.38);
- Handicap: Vitality -1.5 (2.90).
In the second semifinal of the day the world #2 team G2 Esports is going to face Ninjas in Pyjamas who had the same place in the world rankings just before the start of PGL Stockholm Major 2021. G2's Nemanja "nexa" Isaković is set to miss this match with Kenny "kennyS" Schrub standing-in, but that doesn't seem to impact the odds so much, as the Swedes suffered an even bigger loss. NiP's superstar AWP-er Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz announced before the semifinals that he'll have to miss the end of the tournament, and now his place will be taken by Love 'phzy' Smidebrant from the clubs academy roster. This puts NiP into a very unfavorable position as kennyS, despite his inactive status over the past year, has so much more competitive experience than his counterpart.
G2 vs Ninjas in Pyjamas odds:
- Winner: G2 (1.20).
- Winner: NiP (4.20).
- Map total <2.5 (1.50).
- Map total >2.5 (2.48).
