Recently a reddit post caught the attention of League of Legends esports community. A user, who has no fundamental knowledge on the League's esports scene, wanted to learn about what makes Lee "Faker" Sang Hyeok a remarkable mid laner of the Korean and international LoL. He heard the player's name quite often, but was not sure what was Faker's fame all about.

The comments were flooded with words of praise to Faker, while the community was pointing out his achievements, loyalty and the leadership of his current team. Many pointed to the fact that even the world-famous k-pop band BTS members are big fans of Faker. Among the highlights of his highly decorated career many mentioned the Worlds 2017 as an example of "solo-carrying" the team straight to the finals. The most notable achievements of the T1 IGL are:

  • 10 LCK titles;
  • 3 Worlds titles;
  • 2 MSI titles.

Faker is also the co-owner of T1 Esports, meaning that he will continue to operate behind the scenes after he leaves the pro stage of League of Legends. What makes him a special esports athlete, is that he earned the respect of the majority of esports faces, is his intelligent plays, the fighting spirit and devotion to his club, win or lose.
