Borderlands 4 DLC Story Pack 2 Brings Back FL4K on September 10

Live-service shooters keep leaning on familiar faces to anchor new content, and Gearbox is betting on that strategy with Borderlands 4. The studio has confirmed that fan-favorite Vault Hunter FL4K is returning in a new DLC story pack on September 10—alongside a brand-new playable character.

FL4K returns in Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2

Gearbox has officially revealed the second DLC story pack for Borderlands 4, confirming the return of FL4K. The release is titled FL4K and the Last Resort and is set to launch on September 10.

This story pack follows up on the Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned DLC that released earlier in the year. In the new announcement trailer, the Beastmaster continues his Hunt on Kairos, this time paired with a new Vault Hunter: Loveless the Hacker.

The trailer also teases a missing companion moment for FL4K. A poster shown during the reveal indicates that FL4K’s beloved Skag, Mr. Chew, is missing, driving the Beastmaster to search Kairos for his lost pet.

A new playable Vault Hunter replaces FL4K in the roster

While FL4K is central to the DLC story, the character will not be playable in Borderlands 4. Instead, Loveless the Hacker joins the roster of playable Vault Hunters.

Loveless is described as a cyborg and an ex-Anshin hacker turned assassin. She also carries a digital virus implanted within her mind, and she can digistruct into a physical form in a way that’s compared to Zane’s Digi-Clone ability from Borderlands 3.

With Loveless joining the cast, Borderlands 4 reaches six Vault Hunters total. The only Vault Hunter missing from the Borderlands 3 lineup, as far as this roster comparison goes, is Moze.
