Ninjas in Pyjamas and Heroic met at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups Gauntlet Stage. The heated battle of the top Scandinavian rosters concluded in the victory of Swedes. NIP finished the best-of-3 series with their heads high, as they had a tough match with Heroic. Patrick "Es3tag" Hansen shared his thoughts in the post match interview given to HLTV.org.
Es3tag mentioned that the stage is always on fire when the teams are playing, therefore a couple of trashtalk-y shouts towards the enemy team is a normal thing for the hype. But one particular episode was the reason that NIP put all the focus on not making a mistake:
We got quite fired up because of something cadiaN said as we were going back into the booths. So we were like, "alright, now we're gonna give them hell". I thought it was funny and they got really fired up, we all got really fired up. Plus, when it's going really well, it's hard not to shout and be really hyped.
Talking on their strong and weak sides, Es3tag was honest enough to admit that NIP lacks practice on Inferno and Mirage, blaming the latter for its imbalanced nature. On the other hand, his team does the job well on Overpass, where they have 55.6% win rate as of the last 3 months.
NiP knocked Heroic down with a 2:1 scoreline, and qualifier over the Danes to the Fall Finals of the BLAST Series. The next event is set to go live in November at Royal Arena, Copenhagen. Besides NiP, there will be OG, NAVI, Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, G2 Esports and two strongest participants of the BLAST Fall Showdown.
