Abai "HObbit" Hasenov got himself a sweet 6th spot in the best players of 2021 list by HLTV.org, beating both Denis "electroNic" Sharipov from NAVI and Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis from Virtus.pro. For now, there're only CIS players in the Top-10, which truly shows how stable this region's teams were this season.
HObbit led his team to multiple wins at the beginning of the season. Some even say that his team revolutionized the way CS:GO is played, which eventually led to another CIS team rising, which is Natus Vincere. Gambit battled NAVI up until the end, and the very last tournament of the year actually ended with two teams facing each other in the grand final. Still, no matter how hard Gambit tried, they were only the 2nd this year, which is shown in the rating as well.
However, HObbit himself can surely be proud of his achievements. Being one of the 10 CIS players that ever won a Major, he managed to bounce back after his career went down. Along with his younger teammates he played in 10 grand finals this season and got himself two MVP awards.
