Blizzard’s latest Diablo announcements gave the franchise community plenty to discuss, from Diablo 4’s anniversary season to the future of the series. The Divine Bovine Challenge Reached Its Goal
The reward became available after Diablo 4 players completed The Divine Bovine community event. During the challenge, the game’s regular Global World Bosses were replaced by Moophisto, a cow-themed enemy. The community had until September 14 to defeat the warrior cow more than 300,000 times. Players reached the required total before the event ended, unlocking the reward for the wider player base rather than limiting it to event participants.
What the Moomento Mori Trophy Adds
Moomento Mori is a Mount Trophy that can be attached to the rear of a player’s mount. Its design uses Moophisto’s severed head, complete with damaged horns, giving players a gruesome way to display the result of the community effort. The trophy can be claimed from the in-game shop at no cost. Because it is connected to Season 15, Blizzard may remove the offer or change its free availability when the season concludes, which the source places sometime in December.
Diablo 4’s Wider Anniversary Plans
The Divine Bovine event arrived alongside major Diablo 4 announcements at BlizzCon 2026. Season of Hell’s Legacy celebrates Diablo’s 30th anniversary and brings Deckard Cain back as a guide for players. The season also features Dark Wanderers from earlier games, classic unique items, Soul Splinters that provide powerful abilities, and Waking Nightmare activities built around memories of important moments from the series. Those activities allow players to confront the Prime Evils in scenarios recreated with Diablo 4’s engine.
More Diablo Content Is Still Ahead
Blizzard also confirmed that the Amazon will return during the first half of 2027. The class is based on Diablo 2’s bow- and javelin-focused identity and includes four archetypes: the sword-and-shield Champion, javelin-wielding Skirmisher, long-range Ranger, and Commander, who appears to summon Valkyries. Beyond Diablo 4, Blizzard announced that Diablo 5 is in development for a planned 2029 launch. The next game will feature Diablo as a central threat, alongside the Demon Hunter, Monk, and a new Plague Knight class.
