The September 2026 gaming news cycle already had a major PlayStation presentation, but Konami quickly added another batch of announcements with its own Press Start showcase. The stream focused on new trailers, character details, gameplay systems, and release information across several of the publisher’s upcoming projects, ranging from horror and action RPGs to user-created platforming.
A closer look at Konami’s upcoming releases
Silent Hill: Townfall received a creator- and cast-focused trailer ahead of its September 24 release. Series producer Motoi Okamoto introduced comments from writer and director Jon McKellan, who discussed the casting of Jovan Adepo as Simon and Terry O’Quinn’s role in the project. The showcase also highlighted Kezia Burrows, who previously worked with developer Screen Burn Interactive on Observation.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is scheduled for October 15. Its latest footage showed new weapons and abilities for Rose, alongside three previously unseen bosses. The footage builds on the action seen in an earlier playable version of the game.
Creative tools, football, and a returning Web3 project
Wai Wai World Craft brings a level-building focus to Konami’s lineup. Players can construct stages for a 3D platformer using a block-based grid, publish their creations online, and compete for high scores. The trailer featured mobile and PC gameplay, as well as appearances from Castlevania and Contra characters. The showcase did not confirm any additional crossover franchises.
eFootball Kick Off! is already available, and its new Switch 2 trailer previewed a Leagues mode planned for this autumn. Konami also showed Project Zircon, the roguelike deckbuilder first announced in 2023 as the company’s first Web3 project. The new footage emphasized its strategic and narrative systems, including multiple endings shaped by player decisions. The presentation did not discuss blockchain features, and those elements are not listed on the game’s Steam page.
Rev. Noir and Rhapsody in Scarlet expand the showcase
Rev. Noir remains one of the event’s largest reveals, presenting a story-driven action RPG built around Asch and his companions. They are attempting to stop Lightfall, a disaster that transforms people into deadly blight husks. The setting is also governed by Astral Ordinances, rules many residents accept while society remains stable. Lightfall’s return begins to challenge that acceptance. The game is planned for next year on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC.
Rhapsody in Scarlet, which was also shown during the latest State of Play, received another trailer and additional casting information. Ellie Myer will be voiced in English by Cherami Leigh and in Japanese by Akari Kito. Supporting character Ilya will feature performances from Hannah Grace and Saori Onishi. The footage also teased customizable combat and showcased the game’s New York City setting, accompanied by music from Soil & “Pimp” Sessions and Emi Meyer.

Expert View
Konami’s presentation points to a broader portfolio strategy rather than a single headline release. Established names such as Silent Hill and Castlevania are being supported with new entries, while Wai Wai World Craft emphasizes community-created content and Project Zircon continues a more experimental RPG direction. For players, the most immediate tests will be whether Belmont’s Curse can build on its combat showcase and whether the customization in Rhapsody in Scarlet gives its action systems enough depth. The range of projects also gives Konami several ways to stay visible across horror, action RPGs, sports, and creator-driven games.
