Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has indicated that this mode could make the PS5 Pro one of the most recommended ways to play the trilogy’s conclusion.

Graphics Mode targets 4K at 30 FPS, while Performance – Sharp and Performance – Soft both target 60 FPS and differ in their antialiasing approach. The first emphasizes sharper image treatment, while the second uses a softer presentation. Square Enix has not confirmed whether these same options will appear on Xbox Series X.

The PS5 Pro feature is aimed at players who do not want to choose between a higher frame rate and a high-resolution presentation. On the base PS5, users must select between the 30 FPS 4K option and the two performance-focused modes. Versatility Mode instead uses PSSR to pursue both targets, although the stated 60 FPS figure is a target rather than a guarantee of perfectly locked performance in every situation.
That distinction may matter in a game built around a large explorable world. Revelation is expected to expand beyond the scale of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s open world, with areas including Wutai and Mideel available to explore. Players will also be able to use the Highwind airship to travel across the map, making image reconstruction potentially important during fast movement and transitions to the ground.
