Game Freak has officially announced Ame no Chi Hare Onna, translated as Rainy Day, Sunny Girl, an iOS and Android game that moves the studio into a new genre. Instead of collecting Pokemon, players will guide magical weather girls, manage their changing abilities, and even deal with laundry. The game is planned for Winter 2026, but its availability outside Japan has not been confirmed.

Rainy Day, Sunny Girl is built around magical girls whose powers are influenced by live weather conditions in the real world. Sunny and rainy conditions can strengthen different characters, making the forecast part of the gameplay rather than simple background decoration. The girls transform with help from companion creatures called Kumorin and are tasked with clearing garbage from the city. If that garbage remains, it can become a monster known as a Yamikumo.
