Standalone follow-ups to acclaimed action games often have to expand both their worlds and their long-term appeal. Ghost of Yotei is doing that with its first major package of post-launch content: the Complete Edition arrives October 1, bringing a new story expansion, a separate survival mode, and previously released content into one offering. PlayStation has confirmed that the paid upgrade will become available at 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET.
A sequel that built on Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost of Yotei launched on October 2, 2025, as the standalone sequel to Sucker Punch’s 2020 samurai adventure, Ghost of Tsushima. The follow-up earned strong critical reception, recording an 87 Top Critic Average and a 94% critic recommendation score on OpenCritic. Its reception gives the Complete Edition a substantial foundation: the package is extending a well-reviewed single-player experience rather than attempting to revive a struggling release.
What the Complete Edition adds
The Complete Edition includes the base game, Ghost of Yotei’s Legends multiplayer mode, and the bonuses previously associated with the Digital Deluxe Edition. Its main additions are the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion and Most Wanted, a new single-player survival mode.
Echoes of Sekigahara follows Atsu after she encounters someone from her past. The expansion moves between two stages of her life, including her time on the mainland and a present-day journey through a valley once controlled by the Snake. Players can also expect new heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes, and other equipment.
Most Wanted takes a different approach. Sucker Punch describes it as a roguelike-inspired experience in which players pursue bounties, gain gameplay perks, and unlock additional characters. Each character has distinct weapon affinities and abilities, giving the mode a structure separate from the base game’s main story.
Pricing, access, and the October update
Existing owners of Ghost of Yotei or its Digital Deluxe Edition can move to the Complete Edition for $14.99. Players buying the full package will pay $69.99. Purchasing the Complete Edition by September 30 also unlocks a special armor set inspired by Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima.
Not every October 1 improvement is locked behind the upgrade. The same update adds new accessibility and quality-of-life options that will be available to players even if they do not purchase the Complete Edition.
