Ghost of Yotei DLC, Complete Edition, and Free Update Arrive October 1

Post-launch support is becoming an increasingly important part of major single-player releases, and Sucker Punch Productions is giving Ghost of Yotei a substantial second wave of content before the game's first anniversary. A premium story expansion, a new survival mode, a Complete Edition, and a free update are all scheduled for October 1, 2026.

A Major Expansion Arrives Before Ghost of Yotei's First Anniversary

Ghost of Yotei launched in early October 2025 and received its first major addition in March 2026, when the Legends multiplayer mode was released for free. The next content drop will take a different approach. Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted will be premium additions included with the newly announced Complete Edition.

Echoes of Sekigahara will continue Atsu's story across two time periods. Its present-day portion introduces a new valley once controlled by The Snake, the first member of the Yotei Six, and his Vipers gang. The expansion will also introduce Nagato, a mysterious figure connected to Atsu's past.

The historical sections move to Atsu's involvement in the Battle of Sekigahara, which occurred approximately three years before the game's main story, set in 1603. Sucker Punch has also confirmed additional enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, and dyes.

Most Wanted Adds Repeatable Survival Runs

The second major addition is Most Wanted, a single-player survival mode built around repeatable combat runs. Details remain limited, but its structure gives players a way to return to Ghost of Yotei after completing the main narrative and the new story content.

Both additions will be available on October 1, 2026. That same date will mark the release of the Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition, which bundles the base game with the new premium content and digital bonuses from earlier launch editions. Those bonuses include the Charm of Hokkyokusei accessory.

Complete Edition Pricing and Free Version 2.0 Update

The Complete Edition will cost $69.99, €79.99, or £69.99, matching the original launch price of the base game. Players who already own Ghost of Yotei can purchase the Special Edition upgrade for $14.99. That is $5 less than the $19.99 price of Ghost of Tsushima's Iki Island expansion.

Pre-ordering the upgrade will also unlock any missing Digital Deluxe content immediately. Alongside the paid release, version 2.0 will launch as a free update for all players. It adds Beauty of Yotei, an environment-viewing mode, a high-contrast accessibility option, and transmog. The latter lets players keep one armor set's statistics while using another set's appearance.

Sucker Punch has not yet provided full details on the two paid additions, promising more information closer to launch.

Expert View

This announcement signals a broad post-launch plan rather than a single story add-on. Sucker Punch is addressing several different player interests at once: narrative fans receive new material, combat-focused players get a repeatable mode, and the free update answers a long-standing customization request. The lower upgrade price may also make the expansion easier for existing owners to adopt, while the Complete Edition gives new buyers a straightforward package. Its ultimate impact will depend on how deeply Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted expand the game, but the October lineup gives Ghost of Yotei a clear second lifecycle as it approaches its first anniversary.
