Fans have found a way to reproduce one of the most recognizable items in the $399.99 Collector’s Edition without purchasing the bundle: a 3D-printed version of Macca the Gator.
A $399.99 Collection Without the Game
The Collector’s Edition is built around physical merchandise inspired by Leonida and a fictional television show from the GTA 6 world. Its headline item is the Macca the Gator figure, joined by Oakley Frogskins sunglasses, a Leonida Keys crossbody bag, a New Era snapback, a magnetic mirror, a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, a Vice City swizzle spoon, a razor blade keychain, enamel pins, stickers, and a double-sided souvenir poster featuring a map of Leonida.
The major point of controversy is that the package costs $399.99 but does not include a copy of Grand Theft Auto 6. That has made the bundle a difficult sell for players who expected a premium edition to combine the game with its physical extras. By comparison, the standard release is listed at $79.99, while the $99.99 Ultimate Edition includes additional in-game content and access to certain shops and features.
Fans Turn Macca Into a 3D-Printing Project
Rather than pay for the full collection, some fans have recreated Macca the Gator through resin 3D printing. The resulting figure is intended as an unofficial alternative to Rockstar’s collectible and appears close enough to capture the character’s appeal without requiring the rest of the merchandise bundle.
There are important differences. The fan-made model does not include the original figure’s twist-open stash compartment, and a resin print needs to be painted by hand after production. The Collector’s Edition Adds to GTA 6’s Pre-Release Debate
The response to the bundle stands in contrast to the wider strength of GTA 6’s pre-orders. Discussion has suggested that the PlayStation 5 version is outselling the Xbox release, although Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball has said the game is breaking records on the platform and that strong performance is expected to continue through the fall.
The game’s future availability is also being discussed. A PC version is expected by fans at some point, while a Nintendo Switch 2 release appears more complicated. Former Rockstar developer Jérémy Hartvick said the hardware would require adjustments that could result in a weaker experience, though streaming could offer a possible workaround.
