Kotone Shiomi is finally returning to the Persona spotlight. The Persona 3 Portable protagonist will join Persona 5: The Phantom X on September 24, bringing a new story, full voice acting, and a new high-definition 3D model to the game. Her arrival also gives fans a long-awaited opportunity to use Persona 3’s alternate protagonist in a modern title after she was left out of Persona 3 Reload.
What happened
Persona 5: The Phantom X will add Kotone through a sync patch across all versions of the game as part of the Persona series’ 30th-anniversary celebrations. Her limited banner will remain available until November 12 at 1:59 a.m. UTC, giving players a defined window to recruit her.
Kotone’s story begins when Wonder passes through a mysterious door in Paulownia Mall. The encounter temporarily leaves him unable to remember Tartarus, after which Kotone helps him. She can then become a permanent party member if players obtain her from the limited banner. The presentation also showed her updated character design and offered a preview of the side story built around her arrival.
