LEGO Fan Rebuilds Moana’s Heihei Set as Millennium Falcon

Alternate builds are a major part of the LEGO community, much like modding and creative challenge runs are for gaming fans. Builders regularly test how far a set’s existing inventory can stretch, and one recent creation has delivered an especially unusual crossover: a Moana 2 Heihei model rebuilt into Star Wars’ Millennium Falcon without any additional parts.

A Disney Set Takes on a Star Wars Icon

Reddit user Switz399 shared an alternate Millennium Falcon build made entirely from LEGO set 43272, Moana 2 Heihei. The original set contains 566 pieces, and the fan creation reportedly uses every one of them while adding nothing from outside the box. That limitation is what makes the project stand out. Rather than simply supplementing a model with spare gray elements or specialist parts, the builder had to work with the shapes and colors intended for Heihei, the chicken character from Moana 2.

The result is far more colorful than a traditional Millennium Falcon, but the ship’s instantly recognizable outline still comes through. Its broad, rounded body and familiar silhouette make the Star Wars inspiration clear despite the unconventional palette.

The Heihei Set’s Original Design

LEGO released the Moana 2 Heihei set in March 2025, around five months after the film’s release. It belongs to the company’s Disney range and was originally designed as a character display piece. The finished Heihei model includes a rotating head, movable wings and tail feathers, plus a stand.

Those features underline the challenge behind the alternate build. A character-focused set is built around expressive shapes and colorful pieces rather than the subdued mechanical look usually associated with Star Wars spacecraft. Converting that inventory into a convincing version of the Falcon demonstrates how adaptable a tightly defined collection of bricks can be in experienced hands.

Instructions Are Not Currently Available

Fans hoping to duplicate the model face a significant obstacle: build instructions have not been published on Rebrickable. The design is complex enough that recreating it from the images alone is unlikely to be practical for most builders. For now, the project works more as a showcase of possibility than an accessible fan-made instruction set.

That does not reduce its appeal within the alternate-build scene. The Millennium Falcon remains one of LEGO fandom’s most popular remake subjects, with builders repeatedly reimagining the ship through unrelated sets. The dedicated r/oopsmillenniumfalcon community has become a home for these experiments, and another recent example used a LEGO Minecraft Pig set as its starting point.

Expert View

This is a useful reminder that LEGO’s long-term value is not limited to the official model on the box. Fan builders continue to create fresh reasons to revisit existing sets, especially when they can transform a licensed Disney display model into an unmistakable Star Wars craft. The lack of instructions limits immediate replication, but it also highlights the skill involved and reinforces why alternate-build communities remain an important part of LEGO fandom.
