LEGO Turns a Famous Joker Cover Into a Batman Wall-Art Set

LEGO continues to expand Batman beyond traditional vehicle builds, using its 2027 lineup to connect comic-book history, adult collecting, and game-related bonuses. The centerpiece is a brick-built recreation of the Joker cover from Detective Comics #880, joined by two smaller Batmobile sets. All three products are planned for LEGO's January 2027 wave, with pre-orders already listed on the company's official website.

Three Batman sets arrive in the January 2027 wave

LEGO announced the Joker wall art alongside 67008 Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck and 67009 Batman Arkham Knight Batmobile. The two vehicle sets are smaller and less expensive, broadening the lineup beyond the adult-focused display model.

The products are scheduled to launch as part of LEGO's January 2027 release wave. They are expected to reach North America and Europe, among other markets, as early as January 1. The two Batmobile sets also connect to the 2026 action-adventure game LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Either set can unlock the Golden Red Brick, described as a secret 24th collectible that applies a gold theme to every character and vehicle. The Batman Returns vehicle additionally includes a gold Batcave Prop reward.

Expert View

The lineup shows LEGO targeting several Batman audiences at once: collectors receive a premium comic-inspired display piece, while vehicle fans get more accessible builds and a direct connection to LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. The Joker set also demonstrates how wall art can preserve a comic image's defining visual structure through layered construction. That distinguishes it from the 2022 Jim Lee Batman Collection, which presented character portraits without recreating a specific comic cover.
