Marvel Rivals Leak Points to a Potential Vehicle-Based Racing Mode

Live-service games increasingly use experimental events to expand beyond their core formulas, and Marvel Rivals has been especially willing to test unusual ideas. A new datamine and separate leaked gameplay clip now suggest the hero shooter could be preparing its most unexpected experiment yet: a vehicle-based racing mode.

Marvel Rivals Has Already Embraced Experimental Modes

A racing mode would be a major departure from Marvel Rivals’ team-based combat, but the game has repeatedly used limited-time content to change how players interact with its characters and maps. Across the last year and a half, the title has offered 11 limited-time modes, including seasonal player-versus-player events such as Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival and cooperative PvE content such as Marvel Zombies.

The current Path to Doomsday event continues that approach by placing teams against an overpowered Ultron. These additions have varied in structure and presentation while keeping the Marvel Rivals identity intact, making a vehicle-focused event more plausible than it might initially seem.

Datamine and Gameplay Clip Point Toward Vehicles

On August 5, Marvel Rivals dataminer X0XLEAK reported that new files and an in-game model had been added to the game. The material reportedly indicates that a working vehicle system exists in development, although the leak offered no detailed explanation of how the system would be used. X0XLEAK also stressed that the feature could still change.

RivalsInfo appeared to provide additional evidence several hours later by sharing a roughly one-minute clip of a car driving through the Hellfire Bay Beach social area. The vehicle uses a basic placeholder model, while the camera frequently clips beneath the ground. Those flaws indicate that the system is still unfinished rather than ready for immediate release.

RivalsInfo did not identify a confirmed mode or destination for the vehicle. However, the account suggested that it could be connected to a Formula R racing event. That idea has some support in Marvel Rivals’ existing cosmetic content.

Formula R Skins Could Provide the Thematic Link

Several characters received Formula R racing-themed outfits beginning in October 2025. Psylocke was followed by Thor and Squirrel Girl, while Luna Snow later received a Formula R skin in three styles. Black Cat was also given a Formula R outfit shortly afterward.

Those cosmetics do not confirm that a racing mode is coming, but they would fit naturally with one if the leaked vehicle system becomes part of a future event. A mode built around the Formula R branding could give these skins a clearer gameplay and promotional purpose beyond serving as standalone cosmetics.

Key points

  • A datamine reportedly found files and a model linked to a vehicle system.
  • Leaked footage shows a car driving through the Hellfire Bay Beach social area.
  • RivalsInfo suspects the system could support a Formula R racing mode.
  • The feature remains unfinished, unconfirmed, and subject to change.

Expert View

The leak suggests Marvel Rivals may be using its live-service structure to explore mechanics well outside conventional hero-shooter combat. A racing event could create fresh opportunities for character cosmetics, social-space activity, and short-term community engagement, while giving the Formula R branding a larger role. It would not necessarily affect the competitive core, but it could help the game maintain attention between major roster and event updates. For now, the unfinished footage and cautious wording from the dataminers make this a possibility rather than an announced feature. Even so, Marvel Rivals has a strong history of datamined roster information appearing ahead of official reveals, which is why the vehicle evidence is likely to attract close community scrutiny.
