If you missed out on Raids during GO Fest: Global 2026, Pokemon GO is offering a redo. A new global Raid Day is set for Sunday, July 26, featuring Mega Mewtwo Y and expanded access across the event’s Super Mega Raids—plus additional compensation for affected players.
What went wrong at GO Fest: Global 2026
During the July 11–12 weekend of GO Fest: Global 2026, Pokemon GO ran its Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y releases across both days. On Sunday, July 12, multiple players reported technical problems that prevented them from participating in Raid battles. In response, the development team confirmed it would not leave fans without another attempt, describing the issue as more widespread than initially understood and issuing an official apology to players.
GO Fest Do-Over Raid Day details (July 26)
Pokemon GO has scheduled a special Raid event for Sunday, July 26, running from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM local time. The do-over focuses on Mega Mewtwo Y appearing in Super Mega Raids, with an opportunity for it to be Shiny.
Originally, the event was planned for select regions, but Pokemon GO is now expanding it to all players. Alongside the event, Niantic increased compensation: free Raid Passes for the upcoming Raid window were raised from nine to twelve.
The event will also bring back Legendary Raids and Mega Raids from the original GO Fest Sunday. That includes Mega Tyranitar, noted in the update as a strong counter option for Mega Mewtwo Y. For smaller raid tiers, One-Star Raids will feature Pikachu wearing Team Instinct, Mystic, and Valor hats.
Access and incentives: how to prepare
To help trainers join as many Super Mega Raids as possible, Pokemon GO is increasing the Link Charge limit to 2,000. Remote Raid play will also be supported without a Remote Raid limit for this event. In addition, players who purchased the Road of Legends Deluxe GO Pass will receive an extra 5,000 XP per Raid during the new Raid Day.
One notable difference from the first GO Fest weekend: the updated Raid Day information does not mention any special Field Research tasks to complete.
Beyond Raids, Pokemon GO’s ongoing Forever Forward season continues its tenth-anniversary push with more Mega Pokemon planned soon. Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y are scheduled to launch on Saturday, July 18, and Mega Starmie’s debut is slated for August 22.
