Pokemon GO Reveals Gible Community Day Classic Details

Pokemon GO's next Community Day Classic will put Gible back in the spotlight on September 12, 2026. The event gives players another chance to hunt for shiny and high-quality Gible while collecting resources for Garchomp, including Mega Energy and the exclusive move Earth Power.

What happened

Gible Community Day Classic will run on Saturday, September 12, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. During the event, Gible will appear more often in the wild, with opportunities to find shiny versions and specimens carrying a limited background.

Players who evolve Gible into Garchomp by 9:00 PM will unlock the Ground-type Charged Attack Earth Power. A new Collection Challenge will also reward Garchomp Mega Energy and other leveling materials. Completing it requires players to finish Gible's evolution line during the event, making the challenge particularly useful for anyone preparing Mega Garchomp for battles against Electric-type opponents.

Why it matters

The event arrives with several bonuses that make a concentrated three-hour session worthwhile. Pokemon caught during the event will provide three times the usual XP, while Incense will remain active for three hours. Lure Modules will last for one hour until 9:00 PM, and shiny Gible encounters will be more likely around active Lure Modules.

Event-themed Field Research will offer additional Gible encounters, Great Balls, Stardust, and other rewards. Players can also purchase a $2 Community Day Special Research story, which includes three guaranteed Gible with special backgrounds, a Premium Battle Pass, and additional items.

This Classic event is also notable because Gible's original Community Day took place in 2021. Bringing it back gives newer players a second major opportunity to build a Garchomp collection, while longtime players can pursue better IVs, shinies, or background variants.

What to watch next

Gible's event is the first major event of the upcoming Twilight Trails season, which begins on September 8. The September schedule does not include a standard Community Day centered on a more recent Pokemon. The next regular edition is set for October 10, although earlier leaks have pointed toward Zorua as a possible focus. That information remains unconfirmed, even though Zorua featured prominently in the Twilight Trails trailer.

Before Gible's return, Pokemon GO will host GO Fest: Mega Finale on September 5 and 6. The weekend will feature Super Mega Raids involving Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y, alongside the return of Armored Mewtwo after a lengthy absence.

Expert View

Gible is a strong choice for a Classic rerun because the event serves both collection-focused players and those still building a battle-ready Garchomp. The absence of a standard September Community Day may disappoint players seeking newer content, but the combination of Mega Energy, Earth Power, boosted XP, and shiny hunting gives this three-hour event meaningful value.
