Sandile Hatch Day Adds a Focused Egg-Hatching Window
Sandile Hatch Day will take place on October 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During that window, Sandile will appear more frequently in 2 km Eggs, and players will have an increased chance of hatching its Shiny form. Pokemon GO will also improve access to those Eggs by raising the likelihood of receiving 2 km Eggs from PokeStops.
The event's broader bonuses make it useful even for players who already have Sandile. Egg hatching will award double Candy, while all Egg distances will be reduced by half. These effects should give participants more opportunities to build Candy reserves and work toward evolving or powering up Sandile.
Timed Research Offers Free and Paid Incubator Rewards
Free Timed Research will be available throughout Sandile Hatch Day. Its confirmed rewards include an Incubator and bonus XP for hatching Eggs, giving players an additional reason to keep incubators active during the event.
A separate paid Timed Research track will also be offered. Completing it will reduce Egg hatch distances to one-quarter of their normal values and provide one Star Piece and two Super Incubators. Scopely Explore has indicated that the paid research includes further rewards, but those additional bonuses have not yet been detailed.
How Sandile Fits Into Pokemon GO's October Schedule
Sandile Hatch Day is part of a broader October lineup. The Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek event is scheduled to begin on October 13 and will introduce Bramblin and Brambleghast. October's Community Day will feature Zorua and Zoroark, with Zoroark learning Sucker Punch as a Fast Attack when it evolves during the event. That Community Day will spotlight the original Zorua rather than its Hisuian variant.
The month will also bring the Taken Over event and the debut of Shiny Shroodle. Beyond October, Pokemon GO's Wild Area event is returning in November, with in-person events in Japan and Mexico from November 6 to November 8 followed by a global event the next weekend. A Pokemon GO Tour themed around Alola is planned for February 2027.
