Pokémon Pokopia Dazzling Decorations Launches December 9

Pokémon Pokopia’s Expansion Pass continues on December 9 with Dazzling Decorations, the second paid content drop for the Nintendo Switch 2 game. The update puts customization at the center of the experience, allowing players to accessorize Ditto alongside Pokémon companions while adding new furniture and more Pokémon to encounter.

What happened: Dazzling Decorations has a December 9 release date

The Pokémon Company has confirmed that Dazzling Decorations will arrive on December 9 as Part 2 of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass. Its major theme is personal expression: players will be able to equip accessories and coordinate looks with their Pokémon friends. The expansion also brings additional furniture, giving players more options for changing the appearance of their surroundings, as well as more Pokémon to meet. Unlike a major area expansion, however, Dazzling Decorations will not introduce another town.

Why it matters: players need to clear several requirements first

Access to the DLC is tied to both a software update and in-game progress. Players must install the free version 3.0.0 update for Pokémon Pokopia before Dazzling Decorations can be played. They also need to complete the Withered Wasteland requests called “Raise the environment level!” and “Rebuild the Pokémon Center!” In addition, Drifloon’s “Find a doll!” request must be finished. Those conditions mean the expansion is aimed at players who have already advanced beyond the game’s earlier objectives, rather than newcomers starting a fresh save.

What to watch next: Part 3 is planned for 2027

Dazzling Decorations follows the previously released Bubbly Basin expansion, which launched during the summer. It is also the bridge to the Expansion Pass’ third and still-unnamed part, scheduled for 2027. The Pokémon Company has already outlined one key difference for that future release: Part 3 will add a new town for players to explore and rebuild. That makes December’s content a more focused customization update, while the next expansion is positioned as the larger destination-based addition.

What players should do before December 9

  • Update Pokémon Pokopia to version 3.0.0.
  • Finish the two required Withered Wasteland requests.
  • Complete Drifloon’s “Find a doll!” request.
  • Expect accessories, furniture and additional Pokémon rather than a new town.
  • Keep an eye on Part 3 in 2027 for the next new town and rebuilding project.

Expert View

Dazzling Decorations looks deliberately smaller in scope than the town-building promise of Part 3, but that is not a weakness. By tying fresh cosmetic options to established progression, Pokémon Pokopia can give returning players a reason to revisit their existing spaces before the Expansion Pass moves into a more substantial new-area update.
