Subscription libraries have become a major battleground for console platforms, especially when a monthly drop can mix blockbuster campaigns, multiplayer releases and seasonal horror picks. PlayStation has now detailed its October 2026 additions for PS Plus Extra and Premium, with Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West and day-one release Mycopunk leading a varied selection for PS4 and PS5 players.
A broad October slate for Extra subscribers
The Extra and Premium catalog update covers several genres rather than leaning on a single marquee release. Mafia: The Old Country brings its early-20th-century Sicilian crime setting to PS5, while Horizon Forbidden West gives subscribers access to Guerrilla’s open-world adventure on both PS4 and PS5. Mycopunk, a four-player co-op looter shooter, joins the library as a day-one addition on PS5.
The Halloween window is also reflected in the lineup. Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 and The Midnight Walk add horror options, while Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition offers a lengthy JRPG alternative. Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game rounds out the group with motocross racing. Most of the announced catalog additions are set to arrive on October 20, although PlayStation listed separate dates for several titles.
Premium adds retro horror and game trials
Premium members receive two further games beyond the shared Extra catalog. Capcom’s Dino Crisis 2 arrives for PS4 and PS5, giving the tier another classic survival-horror title during the Halloween season. Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition is also joining Premium on both platforms, providing a management simulation alongside the action-heavy main lineup.
The Premium offering also includes trials for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell 2 from October 20. These trials are not full catalog additions, but they give Premium subscribers a way to sample both recently released games through the higher subscription tier.
Halloween extras widen the month’s appeal
PlayStation is supplementing the game library with HorrorFest packs for World War Z and Back 4 Blood. A separate Dead by Daylight Community Challenge can unlock another PS Plus-exclusive pack if players collectively complete 10 million matches between October 20 and October 26.
The new catalog selection follows October’s monthly games, which are already available to subscribers across all PS Plus tiers: F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. Those titles can be added to a player’s collection while their PS Plus membership remains active, while the Extra and Premium additions expand the rotating subscription catalog.

Expert View
October’s selection shows PlayStation using catalog breadth to strengthen the value proposition of its upper PS Plus tiers. A recognizable blockbuster, a day-one co-op game, retro Premium content and timed horror bonuses target different audiences at once. For the community, Mycopunk is the key watch: its day-one inclusion could help populate co-op matchmaking quickly, while Dino Crisis 2 gives Premium a more distinctive identity than another standard catalog addition.
