Grand Theft Auto 6 has received another public commitment to its November 19, 2026 release date. Rob Nelson, Rockstar North’s head of development and co-studio head, told Famitsu in a late-August interview that the game remains scheduled to launch on time. Nelson’s comment is the latest indication that Rockstar expects GTA 6 to reach players on November 19, 2026. That confidence follows a difficult release history. Rockstar first announced GTA 6 for 2025 in December 2023. Take-Two Interactive has repeatedly backed the November 2026 schedule, and its August 7 financial report described the company’s fiscal 2027 outlook as reflecting a high degree of confidence in the November 19 launch. That language connects the date to one of the publisher’s major financial expectations rather than presenting it as a purely promotional target.
Rockstar has also opened GTA 6 pre-orders. Digital customers are scheduled to receive preload access on November 12, one week before launch. Pre-orders and preload preparations cannot guarantee that a release will not move, but they show that the project is further along in its launch planning than it was before either previous delay.
The studio’s marketing has accelerated as well. Rockstar presented an Extended Look on August 27, offering a nearly 27-minute preview centered largely on gameplay and locations. Nelson said the team is pleased with the project’s current state while continuing to polish it every day.

The two earlier postponements mean fans are justified in treating every release commitment with some caution. Nothing from Nelson or Take-Two makes a further delay impossible, especially for a project of GTA 6’s scale. Still, the current signals are unusually aligned: Rockstar North has reaffirmed the date, Take-Two has tied its financial outlook to it, pre-orders are active, and preload timing has been announced.
The broader release calendar also appears to have made room for GTA 6. Many games that might otherwise have competed in the final quarter of 2026 have moved away from the period, reducing the risk of a crowded November. Rockstar would likely attract enormous attention regardless, but the quieter window gives the publisher little incentive to change course. At this stage, a November 19 launch looks like the expected outcome, while another delay would be the major surprise.
