CD Projekt Red is using music to build anticipation for the next major chapter in Geralt’s story. Milan Records has released a five-track EP from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past, giving players an early preview of the expansion’s musical direction while another official version of the 2015 RPG approaches.
A Five-Track Preview of Songs of the Past
The new EP runs for approximately 13 minutes and is available through Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, and YouTube Music. Its contributors include Magda Urbańska, Daniel Elms, and longtime Witcher composer Marcin Przybyłowicz.
The release begins with Urbańska’s “Return to the Path,” followed by “Awoken.” Elms contributes “Into Darkness,” while Przybyłowicz provides “What’s Done.” Urbańska closes the collection with “Belleteyn Night.” “What’s Done” is the longest track at slightly more than five minutes, and its composer gives it the clearest musical link to the original game.
The EP Expands the Expansion’s Early Campaign
Songs of the Past was formally announced shortly before The Witcher 3’s 11th anniversary in late May 2026. CD Projekt Red is planning the third paid expansion for release sometime in 2027, making the soundtrack a relatively early look at the project rather than a launch companion.
The expansion received its first substantial public showcase at Gamescom 2026. That presentation included an early look at the upcoming adventure and introduced Lettenhove, the new region Geralt is expected to explore. The soundtrack EP now extends that preview beyond visuals and story setup, offering a small but concrete piece of the expansion before more information arrives.
A Remastered Witcher 3 Is Also on the Way
The EP arrives just days before CD Projekt Red’s free remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its original premium expansions. The updated release is set to include Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine at no additional cost for owners of the base game.
The remaster will add visual improvements, modernized tutorials, equipment transmogrification, improved menu navigation, combat and traversal refinements, revised mount handling and monster behavior, reworked skill and looting systems, an expanded photo mode, cross-platform mod support, and new accessibility options. On PC, it will also support path tracing, ray reconstruction, Nvidia DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 2.0.
