Seasonal integrations have become a crucial moment for Call of Duty, bringing multiplayer progression, battle royale content and live-service rewards under one shared ecosystem. Warzone’s first season alongside Modern Warfare 4 begins November 6, introducing the large-scale Hajin map while connecting progression and equipment across Multiplayer, DMZ and the free-to-play battle royale.
A unified start for Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone
The November 6 update makes Modern Warfare 4’s Season 1 the point where Warzone fully joins the current game experience. Players will gain access to all 33 weapons released at Modern Warfare 4 launch and during its first season. Daily Challenges, Calling Card Challenges, Apex Attachments, Battle Pass progression and Black Cell progression will also carry across the connected modes. Player levels are being reset for the new seasonal cycle, with progress available through Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone. Activision is also making several gameplay-focused changes, including Tactical Sprint without requiring a perk, weapon balancing work, and improvements to visibility, readability and footstep audio.
Hajin leads a broader map rotation
Season 1’s headline addition is Hajin, a new large battle royale map spanning the Korean Peninsula. The map contains 13 points of interest and is designed around a range of biomes and environments rather than a single visual setting. Variable weather, similar in concept to systems used in DMZ, is intended to make matches less predictable. Eliminated players can enter one of two Gulags, where a one-versus-one win offers a route back into the match. Resurgence players receive a new take on Zodiac, a tighter map with 10 points of interest. Later in the season, Verdansk returns as another battle royale option, while Rebirth Island is set to rejoin the Resurgence lineup.
New platform access and unfinished Carry Forward questions
The update also marks Warzone’s debut on Nintendo Switch 2. Activision says the Switch 2 version will receive the same maps and playlists as the other platforms, including Hajin and Zodiac. That support arrives alongside Modern Warfare 4’s own Switch 2 release and expands the potential audience for the shared ecosystem. The integration follows discussion around Call of Duty’s Carry Forward initiative, which allows certain previously unlocked Operators, skins and legacy weapons to move into the newer experience. Activision had to clarify that weapon camos are not included after initially communicating otherwise, leaving players to closely watch which cosmetic and inventory items transfer over time.

Expert View
This season is less about a single map drop than it is about consolidating Call of Duty’s audience. Shared levels, challenges and Battle Pass progression reduce friction between Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone, giving players more reasons to move between modes without losing momentum. Nintendo Switch 2 support further broadens that strategy. For the community, the test will be whether technical improvements and balanced weapons make the unified progression feel worthwhile, especially after the Carry Forward messaging created uncertainty around what existing collections will retain.
