World of Warcraft: Midnight Patch 12.1.5 Launches October 13

Live-service games depend on a steady cadence of meaningful updates, and Blizzard is keeping World of Warcraft: Midnight moving into the final quarter of 2026. The developer has confirmed that Patch 12.1.5 will arrive on October 13 after scheduled server maintenance, giving players a new story chapter, fresh group content, zone events, progression changes, and class adjustments. The update is already available for preview on the public test realm.

A continuation of Midnight’s Amani storyline

Patch 12.1.5 follows Patch 12.1, Curse of Ula’tek, by continuing the conflict surrounding the Amani trolls, Quel’Thalas, and Zul’Aman. The new campaign, titled The Promise of Tomorrow, centers on the aftermath of Ula’tek’s defeat and the emergence of Kith’ix, an ancient C’Thraxxi threat. Players will work alongside Lady Liadrin before confronting the enemy beneath the Venomous Abyss.

A focused raid and a larger Delve-style challenge

The Unbinding of Kith’ix will provide a compact raid experience built around a single boss. It will be available in Story Mode, Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties, with Mythic groups using a flexible roster of 15 to 25 players. The encounter is designed to close the current story arcs tied to Quel’Thalas and Zul’Aman. Players seeking a longer expedition can also enter the Labyrinth of Kindo’jan, a nine-chamber, mega-dungeon-like activity. It retains the companion-based exploration of Delves while adding broader progression, stronger rewards, and the possibility of Mythic gear. Valeera Sanguinar will accompany players through the complex.

A busy update for group content and progression

Aqir Invasions will add hourly public events to Eversong and Zul’Aman. Each event gives players a ten-minute window to complete a chain of objectives before facing a final boss, with combat scenarios modified by possible affixes such as Void Spheres, Aqir Elites, or Web Weavers. The patch also refreshes Season 2 progression. Orin Straylight will eventually provide access to an additional weekly Nebulous Voidcore, while Ascendant Venomstones will later allow fully upgraded Season 2 gear to be improved. The crest cap will also be lifted during the week of October 20.

Class changes, rewards, and quality-of-life updates

The Devourer Demon Hunter receives several adjustments aimed at making Collapsing Star less punishing when interrupted or cancelled. Other changes affect Restoration Druids, Evokers, Marksmanship Hunters, Mages, Priests, Rogues, Shamans, and Protection Warriors. Outside combat, players can pursue the Fungal Strider mount for 5 million gold, although it will only remain purchasable until the release of The Last Titan. The patch also adds warband-wide Legion and Battle for Azeroth reputations, player coordinates, housing interface improvements, and catch-up mechanics for Prey progression.

Expert View

Patch 12.1.5 signals Blizzard’s intent to support Midnight with several types of engagement rather than relying on a single raid release. A one-boss raid gives the story a clear endpoint, while the Labyrinth and Aqir Invasions offer repeatable alternatives for players who prefer smaller groups, exploration, or public events. The class tuning and catch-up systems should also help the season remain accessible as newer and returning players work through its progression.
