The breaking news CS:GO community learned over the weekend was that NA-based club Cloud9 obtained the whole Gambit Esports roster. What is more, not only the roster, but also the coach and manager will work under Cloud9's tag.
The acquisition took place through an agency, who first bought the rights for Gambit roster and then sold them to Cloud9. Of course, the deal must have been a massive one, since not only the players, but also management members joined the NA club.
Ex-Gambit players are happy that no one of the collective was kicked or omitted. On their side, Cloud9 will take care of the team's accommodation, visas, boot camp, gaming devices etc. However, the team might be competing from Europe, as the competition levels are not that high in the North American scene.
Ex-Gambit roster has been dominating the scene during the online era, and since then has been sitting on the 2nd spot in the world ranking right behind NAVI for a long time. They've also just qualified for the PGL Major Antwerp, and will play the biggest even of the year with their new tag.
