PGL eventually made an official final statement, regarding the teams qualifying for PGL Antwerp Major 2022. The organizer stated, that Russian teams Virtus.pro and Gambit will either compete under a neutral tag, or will not be allowed to participate in the tournament.

Before that, Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov, one of Gambit's players had mentioned that they are going to play with their original name. However, the newest release of PGL refuses this idea.

Rumors say NAVI management are behind the change of the rules. They convinced PGL to set restrictions for teams like Gambit and Virtus.pro. This was shared by Ukrainian website Gameinside.

Some experts say that the best options for the clubs now is to sell their rosters, as they won't get much profit from their players participating in the global event without their tags. However, both VP and Gambit are yet to comment on this decision, and we'll keep you updated on that matter.
