The newest COVID-19 wave outbreak in China has made the organizers War3station to postpone Warcraft 3 Show Cup 8. The news comes from Warcraft 3 Reforged esports athlete Dmitriy "Happy" Kostin, who has won multiple championships.
Show Cup 8 won't happen today. It has been postponed to March 25th. It seems there is another COVID-19 outbreak in China, so the Chinese WCL has to be rescheduled as well. Or, at least, so I was told.
As for the new date, the organizers have chosen March 25, hoping that there will be less cases of COVID after a couple of days. Show Cup 8 takes place online, with a prize pool equivalent to $1,900. The patch chosen for the tournament is 1.32.10. The participants are "Happy" from Russia and "Soin" from Japan. The match will be in best-of-6 format, with 3 games played on NetEase servers, and the rest on W3Champions.
